MASSAGE THERAPY--WHAT TO EXPECT
I am a licensed massage therapist and offer my services in conjunction with or instead of yoga therapy, based on your needs and preferences.
Your safety, comfort, and privacy are of great importance to me. I will begin by asking you questions regarding your health and the reasons for scheduling the appointment. I will then leave the room so you can undress in private and lay on the massage table covering yourself with the sheet and blanket provided. While some clients will choose to be nude, undressing to your own comfort level is acceptable. In keeping with ethical standards and best practices, your body will be completely covered by a sheet, or drape, during the massage. As I work, I will uncover the area that I need to access, recovering it before I move on to another area.

|Massage Therapy: Massage Services
Clients leave my massage office feeling a decrease in pain, an increase in flexibility, and an overall sense of well being. Based on your needs, I may use a variety of techniques.
Myofascial Release: addresses tight or contracted muscles that are restricting the bodyís range of motion and/or causing pain. Myofascial release relaxes tense muscles, increases blood circulation, increases lymphatic drainage (the bodyís natural detoxification process), and leaves muscles more pliable.
Neuromuscular Therapy: focuses on the connection between the body and the central nervous system in order to reduce pain.
Structural Integration: a holistic massage technique and form of movement education that addresses the effects gravity and movement on the body. Just as a tune-up helps your carís engine run more efficiently, structural integration helps you stand straighter, gain height, and move more fluidly and comfortably.
Swedish Massage: a technique in which the therapist massages deep layers of muscle, tendons, and ligaments to aid in the healing process.
